I’ve been in the publishing, editing and design business for more than 25 years, starting out as an editorial assistant, working as a production editor and project manager, before becoming head of publishing for a national charity. This was all before I went freelance in 2001. See Experience for all the gory details.
Since then I’ve worked for a wide variety of clients, including publishers, software developers, government departments and agencies, small charities and small and medium enterprises. (There’s a list on the Experience page.) The work I’ve done for them has varied from researching, writing and editing to graphic design (for web and for print) to web development and production management. See my Portfolio and the Case studies section for examples of my work.
I have an unusual combination of editorial, design and technical skills, which enables me to take a broad overview of information and publishing projects, and make an informed decision on the most appropriate format and medium.
